“The Euphoria of Seeing Those Pictures Will Stay with Me For the Rest of my Days.”

What is your name and age? Tell us a bit about you!

Hi, I’m Mandy, I’m 60 and I retired three years ago due to ill health. 2024 was the start of my journey, I got divorced and moved into my own home.

When did you come in for your first Boudoir Shoot? What made you decide to book?

A boudoir photoshoot had been on my wish list for a long time, I just never had the courage. So after mentioning it to a friend and giving a hundred reasons why I couldn’t do it, they gave me one why I should. For once I listened to advice and so in February 2024 I did my first photoshoot. Very apprehensive, but determined to do it “because why not? You can do anything you want!”

Since then I’ve been back another two times. The second shoot not long after the first and the third one in October this year.

I have three completely different sets of photos. But more importantly each session has given me more self confidence and the ability to accept who and what I am.

What did your Boudoir experience unlock, or help you recognise or celebrate in yourself?

Prior to the first shoot I was in a dark place! I wasn’t happy with either myself or life and my self-confidence was at an all time low. I seriously doubted I could do this and had to push myself. The payback was seeing my photos after the shoot. Being able to see what other people see was a very special moment.

Tell us - what was the moment you saw your photos for the first time like?

The euphoria of seeing those pictures will stay with me for the rest of my days.

So the grand reveal…the first picture was one I’d requested and also one that I thought was a safe bet. So we’re off to a good start! Then the slideshow starts and one by one each picture simply amazed me. I remember crying I was so emotional, I simply couldn’t believe that it was me. Jess kept reassuring me that it was indeed me but I think I was in a state of shock. In the space of a day I’d gone from zero self confidence regarding my body to feeling like a sexy desirable woman.

Did you find that your discovery calls helped you prepare for your day with us?

The discovery calls were a great help, not only in terms of getting questions answered and fears put to rest. It also meant that but the time I stepped through the door of the studio that morning it felt like I already knew everyone. Suddenly this wasn’t a scary place, I was somewhere with friends.

Confidence is a big thing - in fact it is everything. How has your confidence elevated who you are in different areas of your life - for example has this confidence affected your relationship or your career?

Seeing my pictures was life changing! I realised that I didn’t have to settle. So within days of my first photo shoot I started making changes. I’m now divorced and forging ahead in a different direction to the path I was on. Although 2025 has been a challenging year due to health, I’m still very much embracing life and everything it has to offer. I’m enjoying having a social life, going out with friends and dating again. My confidence is constantly growing with each day, week, month and for that I’m eternally grateful.

What stood out or surprised you about this experience?

The one thing that stands out for me about this experience was the care and attention to detail. Everything was geared about making sure I had a fabulous day. I loved it so much I went back twice more. Each time felt special and unique.

When you look at your artwork, how does it make you feel?

My artwork hangs on the walls of my bedroom. It’s the last thing I see at night and the first thing I see in the morning. It reminds me every day of the person I am, the confidence I’ve found and that I am worthy as an individual.

Do you have any last messages you’d like to add? What would you like to say to any Divas considering booking?

I put off doing this for years because of lack of confidence, if you are in any doubt that this is for you, take a deep breath and go for it. The care and attention you will get in the lead up to your shoot and the actual day itself will astound you. I felt cherished, cosseted and comfortable and the end result was fantastic.

I think a lot of Divas struggle with embracing and accepting who you are. There’s so much pressure to look or be a certain person! What would you say to any Diva who is struggling to feel confident in who they are, or to accept their body?

One of the reasons my self confidence was low was my weight, size, curves. I kept telling myself that I would do this when I’d lost weight, toned up etc. But the reality was that this wasn’t going to happen and so in my head I thought I didn’t deserve to do this. I now realise that’s actually the complete opposite of the way I should have been thinking. Doing the shoot has shown me that my curves are to be embraced, they are what makes me who I am. I’m so proud of my pictures and I willingly show them to anyone who wants to see them. Trust the process, the results will astound you but also show you just how beautiful you really are.
