I’m Alice, I’m 59 years old, and my Boudoir Experience Gave Me Back My Self-Esteem

What is your name and age? Tell us a bit about you!

I’m Alice and I’m 59 years old.

When did you come in for your first Boudoir Shoot? What made you decide to book?

I came in for my first Boudoir shoot in July this year. I decided to book because I knew I had to find myself again and my very first phone call with Shannon convinced me that this was the place and the experience for me!

What did your Boudoir experience unlock, or help you recognise or celebrate in yourself?

My Boudoir experience unlocked my confidence and belief in myself. It gave me back my self esteem and made me see that I am enough.

Tell us - what was the moment you saw your photos for the first time like?

It sounds like the biggest cliche but seeing my photos for the first time is really indescribable. I felt so many emotions; disbelief, pride, happiness and there were happy tears welling up inside me.

Did you find that your discovery calls helped you prepare for your day with us?

The discovery calls were so helpful. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have done the shoot without the preparation that they gave. For one thing I felt as if I knew the team already and their kindness and care and positivity wrapped me in a great big blanket of confidence. I also knew what I wanted to do with my shoot and the team knew what Boudoir looked like for me.

Confidence is a big thing - in fact it is everything. How has your confidence elevated who you are in different areas of your life - for example has this confidence affected your relationship or your career?

The confidence I have gained from this is huge. I take care of myself and dress to make myself feel beautiful because I want to be seen. I walk taller and I’m not afraid to be in photos with friends and family anymore. And I have been able to talk properly to my husband for the first time in years about our relationship and what we need to find ourselves again.

What stood out or surprised you about this experience?

I was surprised just how easy it is to pose under the expert guidance of Jesse. I never expected to be so relaxed from the start but the whole shoot was a breeze and so much fun, with lots of chat and laughter. Right down to trying to strike a final pose wearing just a pair of high heels and wobbling most spectacularly !

How does your artwork make you feel?

My artwork is something I look at every day and makes me feel like a Hollywood film star and that there is literally nothing I cannot do! I’m so incredibly proud of it and love the fact that a lot of my family and friends don’t even know it’s me at first glance.

Do you have any last messages you’d like to add? What would you like to say to any Divas considering booking?

If you are considering booking, please don’t consider any longer, just do it. It has been the best gift I could have given myself and it has changed so many things about my life.

I think a lot of Divas struggle with embracing and accepting who you are. What would you say to any Diva who is struggling to feel confident in who they are?

I’d say turn off the noise of everyday life and just forget all that you are to so many people for a few minutes. Focus on you and do something amazing just for you. And know that you really are enough.
