How To Prepare for Bridal Boudoir
Bridal boudoir is a truly beautiful way to create the ultimate wedding gift, while also giving yourself the gift of confidence. Not only is it an unforgettable surprise for your partner, it’s an empowering experience that allows you to see yourself through their eyes. At the heart of it, all our loved ones really want is for us to feel happy and confident in ourselves - and this is the experience that makes that possible. You’ll step into your wedding day, and into married life, feeling empowered, and proud of yourself, while giving your partner a (perfectly spicy) gift they’ll treasure forever!
Decide how ‘bridal’ you want your looks to be
In the Boudoir photoshoot, you’ll have time for two looks. Often brides choose to do one look which is more traditionally ‘bridal’ - i.e white lingerie with a veil. Then, for the other look, they tend to do something which is more just an expression of who they are - whatever that may be! For some people, that may mean lingerie in a different colour. For others, it could be topless with nothing but a leather jacket! We want you to express yourself in a way that feels right for you. As you’ve got the two looks, it’s nice to do something different with each one if you’d like to.
P.S Don’t have a veil? Don’t worry - you can borrow one from us!
Think about whether you want to nod to your relationship and your partner through props
Why not wear one of their shirts? Or bring in something that will reference your relationship? We’ve had people bring in a bottle of wine they love to share with their partner, sports tops, even fishing gear before! It can be totally unique to you guys but it’s always a lovely way of saying “I was thinking of you.”
You can also think of involving their initials in some way. There is a lovely brand called Gigi and Olive that sell thongs you can personalise with embroidered initials if you want something a bit spicy. OR, if you want something extra spicy… you can even get floggers with initials on them! Of course, you don’t have to go down the sexy route - you could do personalised sunglasses or a personalised veil. There’s potential for whatever you fancy!
Don’t forget the ring!
If there is one thing that I have learnt it is that fiancés ALWAYS notice the engagement ring! I’ve lost count of how many smiling grooms and brides-to-be will point at the photo in glee and notice the ring. So, with that in mind, don’t forget to either keep the nails clean - or to get them painted. Don’t feel you need to paint them if that’s not you! It’s more to say that details make a difference, and little pops of colour like that can look really beautiful.
Your partner won’t just love the body shots, they adore your face too!
Don’t get me wrong - the spicy, sexy shots go a long way! We will absolutely make sure their jaw hits the ground when they see those photos, but, remember, your face is the face they have fallen in love with. I often find that people can prioritise body shots over beautiful portraits but, whenever I am in a Design Consultation with partners present - it’s always the face moments that the partners point at! So make sure to include a mixture if you can 💖
Think about when you will be giving the artwork
Do you want to give the wedding gift on the morning of the Big Day? On the first day of the Honeymoon? Or did you also want to drip feed naughty polaroids throughout the wedding day? We have lots of options for you!
The popular bridal artwork are both our albums and treasure boxes (a box of gorgeous mounted prints!). They’re popular for a reason too! They both mean you get a variety of photos, they’re easy to transport - AND with either of these purchases you get the polaroids included! The albums and treasure boxes also come in a gorgeous, luxurious box so they come presented as the perfect gift.
